Australian pleas for clemency fall on deaf ears

As the date draws closer to Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran’s execution, Australian politicians have united in pleading Indonesian authorities for clemency. While the executions have been postponed, Indonesian officials have spoken out in defense of the death penalty for drug-related crimes, dimming homes for a more merciful sentence. Reporting for JACRadio, I investigated the publicity surrounding the sentences, and Australia’s pleas for mercy.
